SURFACE MODIFIED CALCINED ALUMINUM SILICATE – BURGESS 2211 has been specifically developed for use in mineral filled nylon applications. Burgess 2211, amino silane treated Icecap K, offers dramatic advantages in physical properties compared to untreated fillers. Low warpage and high impact strengths are key advantages. BURGESS 2211 offers functionality and savings in other thermoplastics as well such as polyterephthalate, urethane, PVC, polyester, and other.

CALCINED ALUMINUM SILICATE – BURGESS 30P is a flash calcined median particle size clay used extensively in PVC compounds for improving electricals. BURGESS 30P exhibits low specific gravity and excellent color. Lower pound/volume cost results with the lower specific gravity kaolin.

SURFACE MODIFIED CALCINED ALUMINUM SILICATE – BURGESS 5178 has been specially designed to provide excellent wet and dry electrical properties through a proprietary surface treatment. BURGESS 5178 is hydrophobic and a chemical bond between the calcined clay and the polymer exists. Dispersion characteristics also dramatically improve over non-treated counterparts.

SURFACE MODIFIED CALCINED ALUMINUM SILICATE – BURGESS CB has been designed for use in EPR, EPT, crosslinked polyethylene, and polyester. It yields excellent dispersion in these systems with minimum work. CB gives excellent wet and dry electricals by means of lower water vapor transmission. BURGESS CB allows for higher filler loading in polyester bulk and sheet molding compounds and clay filled epoxies due to reduced viscosity. Better dispersion through easier polymer wetting of the filler is another advantage obtained with Burgess CB clay.

CALCINED ALUMINUM SILICATE – BURGESS ICEBERG is a conventionally calcined medium particle size 91-93 GE Brightness clay used as an extender of TiO2 in trade sales interior/exterior flat paints, filler/extender in flexible PVC having aesthetics rather than electrical requirements, EPDM wire and cable insulation compound, pharmaceutical rubber, and filler in polyurethane sealants. BURGESS ICEBERG has several advantages: better touchup; better opacity; higher degree of whiteness; better tint strength; easy dispersion and very low moisture levels in a moisture sensitive application; replacement of more costly carbon black.
