This grade is based on cornflake geometry and produces strong metallic effects in solvent and waterborne flexographic and gravure inks. Although SPARKLEBRITE 012NL-PA can be used in aqueous inks, it is not treated to protect against the aluminum-water reaction and special care must be taken to evaluate the gassing stability of each grade in the final ink formulation.

SPARKLEBRITE 270nl-PA is a coarse particle size, bright, non-leafing aluminum pigment based on standard cornflake geometry. It is a cost effective pigment for producing strong metallic effects in liquid flexographic and gravure ink systems. This grade is produced as a pigment paste carried in isopropyl alcohol but is not treated to inhibit the aluminum-water gassing reaction. Because it is not chemically passivated, it should not be used in aqueous inks without careful evaluation of stability. Non-leafing

This grade can be used in combination with transparent dyes or pigments to produce a spectrum of bright, clean metallic colors. SPARKLEBRITE Premier 014NL-PAC is especially suitable for solvent-based gravure and flexographic inks in which it displays excellent opacity and brilliance. It is compatible with a wide range of film formers, such as NC, PVB, and acrylics, but is unsuitable for water-based systems.
