CALCINED ALUMINUM SILICATE – BURGESS ICECAP K is an excellent extender for TiO2 in coatings where a high hegman grind is required. The low screen residue, due to the removal of agglomerates, makes it a leader in the field of calcined kaolins. Applications include wire and cable, molded and extruded rubber and plastic products. BURGESS ICECAP K has good electricals, low compression set, and low water absorption.

CALCINED ALUMINUM SILICATE – BURGESS ICECAP KSF is a medium particle size anhydrous (calcined) kaolin clay that is used extensively as a “mild abrasive agent” in various polish applications. BURGESS ICECAP KSF is a very finely ground dry white powder that exhibits excellent dispersion and extremely low 325 (45 micron) mesh residue.

SURFACE MODIFIED CALCINED ALUMINUM SILICATE – BURGESS KE is an uniquely processed silane modified anhydrous aluminum silicate designed for use in EPR, EPT, crosslinked polyethylene and polyester systems. BURGESS KE is a very pure, high brightness, low residue, calcined kaolin with a surface that has been chemically transformed by the carefully controlled reaction of an organofunctional silane. This surface conversion permits direct reaction with compatible polymer matrixes in the presence of a peroxide yielding excellent dispersion with minimum work required. The evidence of clay/silane/polymer interaction is demonstrated by increased physical properties such as tensile strength and compression set. KE exhibits excellent wet and dry, initial and long-term electrical characteristics.

HYDROUS ALUMINUM SILICATE – BURGESS NO. 10 is a fine particle size, medium brightness hydrous kaolin clay. BURGESS NO. 10 exhibits excellent dispersion in water based, acid pH, alkyd, or solvent based coatings and inks, electrodeposition body primers, as well as EIFS.

HYDROUS ALUMINUM SILICATE – BURGESS NO. 17 is a fine particle size, high brightness hydrous kaolin clay used to extend TiO2 in semigloss paints and inks. BURGESS NO. 17 is well ground, has excellent whiteness and dispersion, and high brightness.
