SILVET 460-30-E1 is a bright, coarse particle size aluminum glitter pigment produced in pellet form to reduce the potential for generating airborne particles and to improve ease of handling. The pellets are composed of 70% aluminum pigment carried in 30% polyolefin and are produced by a low shear process for easy dispersion. This grade has the smallest particle size of the glitter pigment family and will produce a fine grain glitter effect when used alone or with chromatic pigments. Because of its narrow particle size distribution range it will produce a cleaner sparkle effect than other aluminum pigments of similar particle size. SILVET 620-20-E is a medium particle size aluminum pigment produced in pellet form to reduce the potential for generating airborne pigment particles and to improve ease of handling. The pellets are composed of 80% aluminum pigment carried in 20% polyolefin. SILVET grades with an “E” suffix are more economical than SILVET “E1” grades and have similar ease of handling, but have slightly duller metallic effects and require more aggressive processing conditions for complete dispersion. SILVET AD 010 presents a very fine particle size grade of non-leafing aluminum flake pigment in an easily handled, low dusting, granular form. It has improved whiteness and brightness over the related SPARKLE SILVET 970-20-J. It is recommended for high coverage solvent-based gravure and flexographic inks, in which it displays optimal opacity and adhesion, particularly on polymer films. This grade is compatible with a wide range of film formers and is dispersible in all common organic solvents, except aliphatic hydrocarbons.
