It combines in one product the easy dispersibility of WD grades and the gassing resistance of AQUA PASTE. It is essentially free of hydrocarbon solvents, but contains a passivating agent to minimize the release of hydrogen gas that can occur when aluminum flake is in contact with water. Surfactants contribute to both the low dusting property and easy dispersibility in water. Suggested applications are water-based inks and some water-based industrial paints.

AQUAVEX Plus has been formulated to help make the production of waterbased metallic inks easier. Lower pigment loadings are possible due to high metal content, combined with pigments exhibiting high covering power (opacity). Inks made from the advanced “silver dollars” produce printed items with superior “shelf presence” due to the exceptional brightness and high-level metallic brilliance. The pelletised technology allows for safe handling and is easy to disperse. The carrier system enables the production of inks exhibiting high adhesion “split proof” characteristics, creating more robust ink products. Resistance to tape testing/”split proofness” is dependent on the ink formulation. The pigment is passivated to resist aqueous attack and is combined with non-ionic surfactant (alcohol ethoxylate) to give pellets having the properties of low dusting and easy dispersibility in water. It exhibits exceptionally high opacity, resulting in a lower pigment usage. Recommended applications are water-based inks.
