SYNTEVEN 404

SYNTEVEN 404

unsaturated polyester filler/putty resin

SYNTEVEN 404 is a styrenic DCPD-modified unsaturated polyester resin, amine (polymeric) promoted, with high reactivity and high stability properties. SYNTEVEN 404 is used as full binder for highly filled knifing fillers for metal, wood, and mineral substrates. SYNTEVEN 404 is a fast cold-curing resin, even at low temperatures. After addition of benzoyl peroxide (BPO) it yields a middle hard polymer. Fillers based on SYNTEVEN 404 cure fully both applied in thick and thin coats and they are particularly suitable in the field of car body repairing.

SYNTEVEN 422

SYNTEVEN 422

unsaturated polyester filler/putty resin

SYNTEVEN 422 is a styrenic orthophthalic unsaturated polyester resin, amine promoted, with high reactivity and high stability properties, it is used as basic binder in the manufacturing of several kinds of mastics which have good curing properties and constancy of colour after polymerization. SYNTEVEN 422 is a cold-curing resin, even at very low temperatures. After addition of benzoyl peroxide (BPO) it yields a pale and hard polymer. Putties and mastics based on SYNTEVEN 422 cure fully both applied in thick and thin coats. Combinations of talc, dolomite / calcite, and powdered barytes with low iron content are suitable as extenders, with talc as the main component because it improves the adhesion to the substrate. The more spherical extenders such as dolomite, chalk, and barytes ensure dense packing.

SYNTEVEN 430

SYNTEVEN 430

unsaturated polyester filler/adhesive resin

SYNTEVEN 430 is a styrenic unsaturated polyester resin amine promoted, with very high reactivity and high stability properties. SYNTEVEN 430 is used as binder for adhesives, highly filled knifing fillers, and putties for marble and stone. It can be used in combination with other SYNTEVEN resins to increase their hardness. SYNTEVEN 430 is a cold-curing resin, even at very low temperatures. After addition of benzoyl peroxide (BPO) it yields a pale and hard polymer. Fillers and hard adhesives based on SYNTEVEN 430 cure fully both applied in thick and thin coats and they are particularly suitable for the applications where short times for sanding and polishing processes are required. Combinations of minerals talc, dolomite/calcite, and natural barytes with low iron content are suitable as extenders, with talc as the main component because it improves the adhesion to the substrate. The more spherical extenders such as dolomite, chalk, and barytes ensure toughness and dense packing.

SYNTEVEN 432

SYNTEVEN 432

unsaturated polyester filler/putty resin

SYNTEVEN 432 is an unsaturated polyester resin dissolved in styrene, pre-accelerated with an amine accelerator, extremely reactive, and highly stabilized. SYNTEVEN 432 is used as a single binder for the formulation of fillers with good adhesion characteristics on various types of supports, in particular for those intended for knife fillers in the OEM automotive and Car Refish sectors. SYNTEVEN 432, after the addition of benzoyl peroxide (BPO), hardens cold even at very low temperatures, giving rise to a polymer of medium hardness. Fillers formulated with SYNTEVEN 432 harden completely even at high thicknesses and are suitable for applications where good adhesion, rapid drying, and short sanding times are required. We recommend the use of appropriate fillers and extenders such as talc, dolomite/calcite, crystalline gypsum, and iron-free barites; talc, considering its property of improving the sandability and adhesion characteristics of the substrate, should represent the main component. Furthermore, fillers with a more spherical shape such as dolomite and barite ensure greater compactness to the product. However, to avoid unexpected incompatibility phenomena we recommend carrying out preliminary tests.
