MAGRIS TALC

Mistron 604 is a high purity microcrystalline talc. The lamellar nature of Mistron 604 enhances film strength and flexibility, and provides barrier properties in architectural and industrial primers and topcoats to improve corrosion resistance and stain-blocking ability. Mistron 604 is also used in paints to improve sag resistance and maximize prime pigment extension.

Mistron CB is high-purity, platy, very fine talc which has been surface-treated with a proprietary silane coupling agent for rubber applications. Mistron CB can be used in either sulfur or peroxide cured formulations to improve modulus and compression set. Mistron CB combines the microcrystallinity and the engineered particle size of Mistron Vapor R with the silane coupling agent to maximize modulus and reduce compression set. It also reduces viscosity and nerve, increases extrusion rate and quality, and improves molding flow of un-vulcanized rubber compounds. The platy structure of Mistron CB significantly enhances barrier properties.

Mistron CF5A-M is high-purity engineered talc which has very low viscosity-build, allowing it to be formulated at high loading in low VOC industrial coatings while maintaining excellent anti-settling properties and superior corrosion resistance.

Mistron HYPERPLATE is produced using a proprietary delaminating process developed by Magris Talc which results in a highly lamellar talc compared with conventionally micronized grades. Mistron HYPERPLATE enhances rubber compound barrier properties, restricting liquid and gas diffusion. It combines rubber reinforcement with processability, providing lower compound viscosity for improved flow in extrusion and moulding applications. Mistron HYPERPLATE is densified and has excellent flow properties for easy handling. It is a Low Environmental Impact, natural functional filler.

Mistron Monomix is a high purity, high-brightness, 6-Hegman micronized microcrystalline talc product. Mistron Monomix is part of the Micronized series of Magris Talc products that have high surface area and tight top-size control for improved paint performance properties. Mistron Monomix is an excellent choice for improving the cost/performance balance of solvent borne and protective coatings due to its hydrophobic nature, excellent sanding and polishing properties, film reinforcement, rheology contribution, and high whiteness/brightness. Mistron Monomix disperses easily in organic resins and gives very good coating stability and anti-settling properties. Mistron Monomix is highly recommended for alkyd and siliconized alkyd protective coatings, polyester gelcoats, polyurethane coatings, aerosol coatings, and for replacement of higher-priced thixotropes. Mistron Monomix could also be used in plastics to increase stiffness, HDT, and dimensional stability. In rubber, it improves processing; enhances reinforcement, elongation, and cut/tear resistance, and is an effective dusting/parting agent.
