MAGRIS TALC

Mistron Plus is high-purity, platy talc that has been surface treated with a proprietary cationic polymer. Mistron Plus is used to control stickies, wood pitch, and anionic trash in pulping processes such as, groundwood, TMP, CTMP, and DIP. Mistron Plus is available in compacted, dry form or as high-solids water slurry. Also, the components of Mistron Plus are approved for use in the manufacture of paper and paperboard under FDA Regulations 21CFR176 and CFR 186.1256.

Mistron RCS is a very high purity, high-brightness, 5½-Hegman talc product with low oil adsorption and minimal viscosity build. Mistron RCS is part of the Engineered series of Magris Talc products that have unique particle size distributions for improved paint performance properties. Mistron RCS is an excellent choice for modern protective coatings applications due to its hydrophobic nature, very low mineral solubility, and proven anti-corrosion performance.

Mistron TZ-2 is a proprietary surface-treated talc product recommended for improving blush resistance in polyester gelcoat applications. Mistron TZ-2 is an easily-dispersible mineral pigment with high brightness, excellent rheology, and patching/polishing properties.

Mistron Vapor is high-brightness, high-purity, platy talc. Mistron Vapor is used for pitch control in all types of pulp and paper mills. Mistron Vapor also is available in compacted form to improve flow characteristics and minimize dusting.

Mistron Vapor R is high purity microcrystalline talc. Mistron Vapor R is designed for use in thermoset rubber, coating, and adhesive and sealant formulations. Mistron Vapor R balances reinforcement with processability, providing lower compound viscosity, improving extrusion quality and rate, and reducing die swell and nerve. Mistron Vapor R improves impermeability and swell resistance, and the aging properties of thermoset rubber compounds. In coatings, Mistron Vapor R also enhances final film performance by increasing tensile strength and flexibility. Mistron Vapor R has a platy, hydrophobic characteristic which improves barrier properties, corrosion resistance, and stain blocking ability.
