FTALON 45/80 ABT is a short oil alkyd resin based on selected non-yellowing vegetable oils, which allow to formulate 2K polyurethane varnishes for wood and for the furniture sector, which have as main characteristics the high solid residue therefore a low content of V.O.C., with low isocyanate content and long pot life. FTALON 45/80 ABT can be used as a single resin or in combination with other resins. The properties described above are also obtained with a careful selection of the isocyanates, additives and solvent mixture. Furthermore, it allows to obtain a significant reduction in viscosity with the main solvents normally used in paint formulations. FTALON 45/80 ABT has broad compatibility with short and medium oil alkyds, with some hydroxylated saturated polyesters, and with medium-high hydroxyl content acrylics. It is cross-linked with the isocyanates of the URONAL series, and is also compatible if used in cutting with nitrocellulose, standols, maleic and phenolic resins, rosin. FTALON 45/80 ABT is soluble in aromatic solvents, acetates, ketones; it is partially soluble in glycol ethers; it is instead not soluble in alcohols and aliphatic solvents. However, given the wide range of possible partners, it is advisable to carry out preliminary tests.

High quality saturated polyester, for PU coatings – FTALON TAC is a high quality polyester that combines the main characteristics of hydroxylated acrylic resins and hydroxylated polyester resins, for the preparation of 2K-PU coatings. FTALON TAC is suitable for car refinishing, industry, and wood. Its main characteristics are: good yellowing and outdoor resistance; good chemical and mechanical resistance; gloss retention; extremely low colour. FTALON TAC is compatible with FTALON and hydroxylated acrylic resins. FTALON TAC is soluble in aromatics, acetates, ketones; it is partially soluble in alcohols; it is insoluble in aliphatics. However, due to the huge number of potential partners, preliminary tests are recommended.

FTALON TAC/75 ABT is a short oil alkyd resin, developed with the specific intention of combining the characteristics of hydroxylated acrylics and hydroxylated saturated polyesters, for the preparation of very high quality two-component polyurethane enamels and varnishes. FTALON TAC/75 ABT is used for applications in the Car Refinishing, industrial wood bodywork, and furniture industry sectors. Furthermore, it has good resistance to yellowing and outdoor weathering, associated with chemical and mechanical resistance with gloss and color retention. FTALON TAC/75 ABT, has a wide compatibility with many hydroxylated acrylic resins, it appears to be compatible with the FTALON series. FTALON TAC/75 ABT is soluble in aromatic solvents, acetates, and ketones; it is partially soluble in alcohols, while it is not soluble in aliphatic solvents. However, it is recommended to verify compatibility and solubility with preliminary tests.

High performance saturated polyester – FTALON TN is a very reactive saturated polyester both at room temperature and at 45-50°C. FTALON TN is very reactive with all isocyanates, but yet films with fast hardening, excellent colour retention, and chalking resistance are obtained with aliphatics. FTALON TN is suitable for car refinishing or acrylo-polyurethane enamels. Its main characteristics are: dust-free time, deep hardening, outdoor resistance, gloss retention, yellowing resistance. FTALON TN can also be used for marine applications. FTALON TN is compatible with FTALON resins, nitrocellulose, ureic and melamine resins, many hydroxylated acrylic resins. FTALON TN is soluble in aromatics, esthers, and ketones; it is insoluble in aliphatics. However, due to the huge number of potential partners, preliminary tests are recommended.

Non yellowing saturated polyester for high quality 2-Pack PU coatings – FTALON TN/100 is a polyol with a good flexibility and its OH groups react at room temperature and at 45°-50°C. This resin offers high cross-linking speed with all isocyanates, but it is particularly suitable for cross-linking with aliphatic isocyanates. Films obtained offer fast hardening properties, excellent colour retention, and chalking resistance. According to its characteristics, FTALON TN/100 is specially formulated to be used for car refinishing enamels, where dust free and touch free time are very important factors. FTALON TN/100 offers good compatibility with acrylic hydroxylated resins so that we suggest to use a combination of these resins in acrylic-polyurethane enamels. Compared with acrylic resin alone, the following features will be obtained: improvement of in depth film hardening speed (this feature is mainly remarkable in metallized systems and with different layers of glossy coatings); improvement of scratch resistance; improvement of adhesion to basecoats and the metal; possibility to prepare pigment dispersions directly with FTALON TN/100 thus reducing operation time; use of pastes in FTALON TN/100 even for nitro and stoving enamels. These enamels have an excellent film resistance for outdoor use, glossy retention, and yellowing resistance. Due to its excellent resistance, FTALON TN/100 is suitable for marine applications. FTALON TN/100 is compatible with FTALON range and with the most diffused hydroxylated acrylics, which contain an high OH value. FTALON TN/100 is soluble in acetates, ketones, aromatic solvents; it is not soluble with aliphatic and alcohols. However, due to the huge number of potential partners, preliminary test are recommended.
