SYNTEVEN 702 is an allylic unsaturated polyester resin in styrene, which is highly reactive, hard, and bright. SYNTEVEN 702 is used as a binder for highly filled primers to apply by knifing and spray for car refinishing. It’s also possible to use in primer wood and furniture. Coatings based on SYNTEVEN 702 curing with conventional method (salts of Cobalt / peroxide), in any case it has to be taken in consideration desired drying times and temperatures present during the application so that it’s possible to define a proper relationship between Cobalt and peroxide. For the preparation of filler, it’s recommended the use of appropriate charges such as talc, dolomite/calcite, and iron-free barites. The talc, as it has property to improve the characteristics of sandability and adherence to the substrate, should be the main component.

SYNTEVEN 713 is an unsaturated high-solid polyester resin of the “direct glossy” type TMPDE reactive, that allows to obtain very hard films even at high thicknesses despite the absence of the monomer. SYNTEVEN 713 is used in the formulation of transparent and pigmented coatings for wood with traditional accelerator Peroxide catalysis, characterized by ease of deaeration, absence of dripping even at high thicknesses. SYNTEVEN 713 is used for the preparation of Top-Coat paints which must have a high solid content at the styrene-free application viscosity. The viscosity can be adjusted by using Ethyl Acetate in small quantities and carefully checking that there is no solvent retention in the film with the possible presence of microbubbles inside. To formulate paints that contain monomer, it is necessary to use a reactive diluent always in small quantities (max 20%), in order not to compromise the resistance to yellowing of the resin. The paints can be hardened using classic Cobalt / Peroxides systems by dosing the quantities according to the thickness of the film to be obtained and the environmental conditions during application.

SYNTEVEN 714 is a styrene-based unsaturated polyester resin of the direct gloss type, free of paraffin, very reactive and high gloss. SYNTEVEN 714 is used in the formulation of “direct gloss” type paints both as a primer and top-coat transparent and pigmented with high hardness, excellent filling power, and easy sanding for the wood and furniture sector. SYNTEVEN 714 is applied with traditional catalysis using a highly reactive accelerator / peroxide. SYNTEVEN 714 is soluble in esters and ketones and partially soluble in xylene and toluene, while it is insoluble in alcohols and aliphatic solvents. However, it is recommended to carry out preliminary tests to avoid incompatibility phenomena.

SYNTEVEN 720 is an allyl unsaturated polyester resin dissolved in styrene of the “direct gloss” type with characteristics of good reactivity and rapid hardening, cross-linked with U.V. after the addition of specific photoinitiators. SYNTEVEN 720 is particularly suitable for formulating easily sandable primers and transparent or pigmented finishes, with good surface hardness and scratch resistance. SYNTEVEN 720 is compatible with polyesters of the SYNTEVEN series to increase film flexibility; moreover, it can be cross-linked with isocyanates of the URONAL NL and URONAL P75 series which increases its adhesion and chemical resistance. SYNTEVEN 720 is soluble in esters and ketones while it is partially soluble in aromatic solvents; conversely it is soluble in alcohols. However, it is recommended to carry out preliminary tests to avoid unexpected incompatibility phenomena.

SYNTEVEN 725 is a slightly flexibilised and very reactive unsaturated orthophthalic polyester resin that finds use for the formulation of transparent and pigmented polyester paints, containing paraffin, with hardening conventional or U.V. curing. From the application of paints based on SYNTEVEN 725 it is possible to obtain films with good hardness surface, excellent sandability, and resistance to greening.
